Shas'O T'au Te'vos - Picture 3

The model itself was painted using a limited range of paints as a full test model for the other Tau battlesuits being used in the army.

The blue-grey armour was basecoated by spraying the model with the Chaos Black spray paint before applying a layer of Dark Reaper to the armour panels. An edge highlight of Thunderhawk Blue finished off the armour panels.

As the army's secondary colour (applied to the cloth parts of Fire Warriors and Pathfinders) is grey, a small number of armour panels were painted with Mechanicus Standard Grey, before being highlighted with Dawnstone.

In addition, the joints were painted with an edge highlight of Mechanicus Standard Grey, while the gold sections were painted with Baltasar Gold, a wash of Agrax Earthshade and a layer of Gehenna's Gold.

The white helmet and the reversed Fire Caste symbols were painted first with a basecoat of Celestra Grey, before a layer of 1:1 mix of Celestra Grey and White Scar and then an edge highlight of White Scar. A shading layer of Mechanicus Standard grey was applied to the most recessed parts of the sensor vanes and the helmet.

As Te'vos is part of the T'au cadre, the sept markings were all painted with White Scar using a Fine Detail Brush. On the helmet, where the colours are reversed, the sept markings are painted using Dark Reaper
