"Grasshopper" light mech
The Grasshopper is a light mech designed by the Tongorian Union
It is super quick and manouverable. It can jump 50 meter in non-rocket assist mode, more if its twin rocket boosters kick in.
It's armed with 2 152mm coilguns (firing tandem-warhead HEAT rounds). With this weapon it can destroy any vehicle. If not, it can jump and engage it from above.
Against soft-skinned targets, it has a quad-barel 14.5mm coil-minigun.
It is fully autonomous and with its radars it can detect the smallest movements and sounds from far away.
The Grasshopper is a really smart drone, being able to calculate the most complex manouvers in nano-seconds, like mid-air aiming and landing on rough terrain.
A little story for it:
You are sitting in your trench, awaiting orders. You hear some muffled noise in the distance. Someone yells:
- Grasshoppers incoming at 11!
You immedietely stand up and see the 10 Grasshoppers popping in and out of the trees, rapidly closing on you. You reach for your rifle, but you know you can't damage them, you would need something bigger.
The Grasshoppers reach 1km, which is the maximum range for their guns. Suddenly, all 20 152mm howitzers start firing in mid-air at your position, in air-burst mode.
Explosions everywhere. Debris and bodyparts flying around. This goes on for terribly long 30 seconds. You are shaking when all of a sudden everything goes quiet. Somehow, you survived the barrage. The howitzers stopped firing, you clearly hear their steps now and the moaning of the survivors of the carnage. Smell of burnt flesh and clothes is in the air. Dust is flying everywhere. You can barely see anything.
You know they are close. You don't want to, but you can't resist the urge to look out.
You slowly stand up, finger on the trigger, you see the edge of the trench. Finally, you gather enough courage to stick your head out.
A Grasshopper stands a few meters in front of you, hunting down remaining survivors. You know its radar already detected you, but you are just standing there frozen. It starts turning quick. It is now looking at you. You stare into its deep and empty black eyes, no emotions shown, nothing. Last thing you see is how the gatling spins up and then a small and quick flash. It felt like an eternity for you, yet it was only a fraction of a second.
You are lying there, motionless in your trench, that you digged, your very own grave.
The mechs head back to base. They were victorious this time.
