Order of Solomon's Seal - Chest Star

The Order of Solomon's Seal was the second highest and oldest order of the Ethiopian Empire (Emperor Tewodros II awarded the first order during the 1860's). The Order was given to the Emperor and Empress, the Crown Prince and Princess, and the male members of the Imperial family, the as well as Christian heads of state around the world.

The Cordon was an Emerald Green Sash worn from the right shoulder to the left hip with the plaque hanging at the left hip. In the highest grade of this order, the cross in the middle of the star was enameled green on both the plaque and the breast star. Lower grades were plain gold with no green enamel.
