New Light Baptist Church (Formerly Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist)--Detroit MI
The imposing classical facade of this church overlooks Detroit's Nardin Park (now renamed Richard Allen Park). Its neighbor on the other side of the park is the former Nardin Park Methodist Church. Two other churches in the immediate area make Nardin Park a concentration point for religious architecture. Built in 1929, at a cost of approximately $350,000, the building was designed by the architectural firm of Weston and Ellington.
