Bamboo is dry when it stops losing weight.
After flame polishing, it was time to dry the bamboo. I weighed each piece of bamboo every two weeks until it stopped losing weight. I figured that when it stopped losing weight, it was dimensionally stable for my climate. Between weighing every two weeks, I left the bamboo stored horizontally in the attic of my garage where summer time daytime temperatures exceed 125 degrees f. I dried some pieces vertically (root end down). The orientation didn't appear to make any difference in the dried bamboo. Diameters were marked so make material selection easier later.
