-this my entry for the Ugly Fabric Challenge at my LQG.
I am thrilled to say that I won first prize in both categories-the best use of undesirable fabric and best display of dream item. We had to use 2 ugly fabrics and make a project from our bucket/wish list.
I have wanted to make an octopus quilt for a long time but my skills were never up to snuff. When I chose my fabric I got one with eyeballs and they looked to me like the suckers on the tentacles! I knew the time had come to make my octopus quilt! The second fabric was a bright blue which I coffee dyed to make it darker and more appropriate for the ocean floor!
Great challenge-it was fun and stretched my creativity!
Oh I won 2 FQ collections of Cotton and Steel fabric with matching threads! Sweet!
