PMT array

This was our telescope, and it sits at the top of the tower. It's an array of photomultiplier tubes, or PMTs. Each collects a photon and converts it to a voltage change. All of the big heliostats on the ground collect falling light and direct it onto a different PMT, so we can not only localize the signal but its time of arrival as well.
