Switching in Detroit

Having just crossed West Grand Blvd., this CSX GP38-3 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMD_GP38-2#Rebuilds) is seen pushing two cars into the area just down river from the Ambassador Bridge.

This area used to be quite extensively covered by rail, including the Wabash and Pere Marquette boat yards, the Union Belt of Detroit's 21st Street Engine Terminal as well as the coach yard for the Fort Street Union Depot.

Very little of this infrastructure is still in existence today.
