London RT's Wombwell Diesels.
Wombwell Diesels, which visit who knows but I am beginning to think all on the same day and looking back I was very lucky as I had come here for the DMS’s only. There must have been 20 or more RT’s congregated in this area many of which had latterly been with the training school. In this view alone there are 11 but only those in the foreground are identifiable. From left to right the six with number plates showing are, unreadable, KLB 558 RT1309, NLE 855 RT3748, JXN97 RT1069, KGK976 RT2167 and LYR570 RT3351, researching via Ian’s excellent bus stop web pages gives dates of sale of the identifiable RT’s to Wombwell as between July 1978 and Feb 1980. RT1309 was sold to Wombwells in Feb 1980 and exported to Zambia in June 1981, RT2167 was also exported, this one going to Australia.
I am currently unable to scan slides due to technical issues so I cannot rescan at a higher resolution to check and confirm registrations.
