Short biochemical set for screening stool pathogens:

Tube indole = Negative

TSI slant = Alkaline / acid, no gas or hydrogen disulfide production

LIA slant = Lysine decarboxylase positive, deaminase negative

MIO agar = Motility negative, ornithine decarboxylase positive

Urea slant = Urease negative
