Silver Toyota Prius V

Not a fifth-generation, or "Mark V," Prius, but an extended multipurpose wagon - the V is for "versatility" - that Toyota has added to its Prius line of hybrid vehicles. I showed a picture of the smaller Prius C from the 2012 New York Auto Show earlier in this photostream.

The Prius V has fifty percent more room than a standard 2010 Prius, and its main competition are wagons and microvans like the Mazda 5. It has a unique transmission that operates on single speed using gears that operate around a central gear.

Its styling execution is not unlike the Volkswagen Sharan, a microvan that VW has never sold in the United States or Canada. Maybe they should, even though that car is not a hybrid.
