Chevrolet Caprice Classic Station Wagon
Here's a real oldie but goodie, made back in the day when a big wagon didn't mean an SUV! This Caprice station wagon is a 1985 model.
The full-size Caprice - named for a swank New York restaurant - was Chevrolet's top-line model. In 1985, the car was in its third generation, which had debuted for 1977, and a fourth-generation front drive Caprice had been planned for 1983, but the big rear-drive car got a reprieve when fuel prices came down after the 1979-80 oil shock. While the sedans had six-cylinder engines for 1985, the wagon, which obviously needed more power for hauling purposes, got a 305 V-8.
The Mark 3 Caprice lasted until 1990. The fourth-generation (and last) Caprice was a new design on the same platform.
