Oldsmobile - In the Dustbin of History!

I couldn't resist photgraphing this garbage can for the symbolism of it. Look closely at the hubcaps in this can, standing outside a car repair shop, and you'll note the old Oldsmobile stylized rocket logo in the middle.

Oldsmobile, of course, was once General Motors's medium-priced division and was a mainstay brand in GM's divisional hierarchy. Its cars grew stodgy, and attempts to remake Oldsmobile as an import-fighting brand in the 1990s fell short. The brand, started by Ransom Eli Olds in 1897, was the oldest car marque in the United States when falling sales and disinterest in its products caused it to go out of business in 2004.

And so, Oldsmobile passed into the myths of time and entered . . . well, you saw the picture's title.
