1979 Mercedes-Benz SL Class
Looking pretty good for its age, this is a 1979 Mercedes-Benz SL coupe, parked quietly on a main suburban street.
This generation of the SL class was introduced in 1970 and continued in production until 1989. The Germans have always had a talent for timeless automotive designs. (So too, in fairness, the Americans - remmber, the second-generation Camaro and Firebird lasted eleven years!) Alas, the Japanese have dumbed down automotive styling with their four-year product cycles, so even a Mercedes of this design caliber doesn't last very long.
