Denali Wolf (Grant Creek Pack)

During a fireside talk, one of the rangers qutoed a researcher that said to look into the eyes of a wolf is to see the mirror of your soul, hopefully you'll like what you see.

This wolf approached very close near Stoney Pass in Denali National Park and is a part of the Grant Creek Pack.

The Grant Creek Pack had located near mile 47 of the Park Road and had become quite a favorite with the rendevous site just below the road so lots of people got to see them. In the last three years the pack had grown a lot from just a couple of members to over 20. However, this winter, the alpha female with one of last years pups encountered the East Fork pack where the territories overlap and she and the pup were killed. The pack still doesn't have an alpha female and did not den up this year and the pack is down to roughly 5 members. 60% of wolves killed in Denali are killed by rival wolves.
