400 followers! Contest time!
So I have reached 400 subscribers!
Thank you so much guys!
To celebrate this I have planned a contest, not a fig contest that I first thought, but a MOC contest with focus on historical accuracy.
Rules:
* Has to be WW1/WW2
* The size is 16x16 studs.
* Must be based on an eyewitness of a specific event. A
specific battle. A specific part.
Battle of the Bulge is not specific enough. Initial advance of
the Germans on the 16th December 1944, Battle of the Bulge
is good enough. So you should read an eyewitness of a
soldier from a battle and base your build of it. Post the
eyewitness in the description. If you don’t own any books,
don’t worry, there is plenty to find on google.
(If you don't understand this, check my last photo for a photo based on a eyewitness, or wait a day or two for a 16x16 eyewitness photo)
* To be entered the photo shall be added to the group Pemil’s
Historical LEGO contest (this photo is in the group)
What I will look at when judging the winner:
* The historical accuracy of the figs/weapons/equipement. If
you make a 1939 MOC it will be a huge drawback if they
wear M43 uniforms, is it before 1942 there wasnt any MG42s, before 1915 no helmets, is it winter, don’t let them have summer uniforms if you haven’t read they still had summer uniforms in that specific event you’re making etc.
* The historical accuracy it is based of/ your interpretation of
the eyewitness. Have you read onto the battle and found all
details in what’s told. Was it trenches or foxholes etc. SO how well you've interpreted what is told.
* The MOC itself, the tech you are using. Does it look good? Is
it only basic tech? How have you placed the figs, is it too
many? Etc.
* And ofcourse it has to be a new build, can't have been posted before on flickr or anywhere else.
----------------------
Deadline to enter will be the 10th of February.
The reason for the long time is that I thought 2 months, but I travel to India in January, so thought I could put the deadline a bit later because I wont be able to sit down and look through them anyways.
There will be 1st and 2nd price. Depending on how many that enters there might even be a 3rd price.
The prices then? I have not decided anything.
I might let the winners decide.
Could be painted weapons (all weapons in this photo is painted), modded weapons (have some good stuff coming up), sculpted parts (like the pilotkas on this photo) or figs. Sculpted or painted (all camo in the photo is painted by me).
What do you think about that?
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
--------------------------
Once again, thank you for all the support given here on flickr, even though I really like using the LEGO it becomes much better when sharing the hobby with others.
