Ring-necked Pheasant [Phasianus colchicus]

This is the first ring-necked pheasant I have seen in probably twenty or more years. I had nearly forgotten how beautiful they are. When I was a young man I remember they were quite common. I would see them practically every day near my home in Lebanon County. In fact, during one memorable winter, they would wake me up every morning at dawn by crowing very loudly from the spruce trees twenty feet from my bedroom window. What a thrill it was to see them again.
