"Hello, Iowa" -- Welcome sign on Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, 1315 Hill Street, November 22, 1924.

Owned by the ASPs from 1914 to 1941, this Italian Renaissance palazzo on the NE corner of Hill and Forest was built in 1908 and demolished in 1999. On the morning of November 22, 1924, it offered a greeting to the visiting Iowa Hawkeyes, with a poster-sized drawing of Michigan Coach Harry Kipke in the window at right, matching one of U-M Athletics Director Fielding Yost at left. Had it survived, the giant poster in the middle, a design based on the game program cover, would be a collector's item now. Iowa's reply was a neat trouncing of Michigan that afternoon, with a score of 9 to 2.
