When the building was finished, Miller's Ice Cream, an Eaton Rapids firm which had long operated a branch store in a woodframe building on the site, moved into a storefront at the far left. While she was a student at the University of Michigan, dancer and singer Madonna Ciccone had a part time job there, says Ann Arbor Flickerite Jim Rees.
