California Street, during morning rush hour

This is an ordinary morning scene of San Francisco's financial district. Cable cars run on this east-west street. California Line is one of the three cable car lines that runs in the city. Compared to the other two lines that run on Powell Street, you don't see a long line of tourists at the starting station, which is just up the street in this photo. Therefore, cable cars are operated less often than the other two lines are. During rush hours, I saw once every five to seven minutes.

 

A few years ago, I saw a scene of this street bustling with people and traffic. Glaring sunlight was coming through from between tall buildings. That scene was a cinematic. I wanted to capture such a scene, but this is what I did. It is my bad habit that I zoom in to the main subject too much. I should have zoomed out. Sunlight isn't as bright as what I saw at this late in the morning. I learned that there are a lot more that I have to do to shoot a scene when the street is most cinematic.
