last sunrise

Two weeks prior to this day, I went to Glacial Park for the first time. I saw this extensive prairie and thought it would be nice to capture morning mist hanging low across it. A week before, I went to the park at dawn. I saw light mist over the field the previous morning. However, mist didn't generate that morning. The previous day's expected low was 55 degrees. I drove toward the park at crack of dawn. Between home and the park, there is a field in the outskirts which is usually fogged up when the parks are fogged up. As I saw the field clear of mist, I made an U-turn and headed to the beach instead.

This day's expected low was 52 degrees. The field wasn't fogged up. This prairie wasn't either. Instead, I saw this gorgeous sunrise. As soon as the dawn broke, the eastern sky showed a hint that a dramatic sunrise was going to happen. The atmosphere above the horizon began to have colours. The clouds began to dye, reflecting the sunlight. When I was lost in admiration of the clouds deepening their colours, the sun had been risen. I may not see a sunrise over this extensive field again for a long while. I was glad for being able to capture the last sunrise I saw in Illinois State.
