Impact to the Community

AMTC’s RORO operations have supported the growth of the rural economy and the agricultural sector as envisioned by the government’s Strong Republic Nautical Highway program by providing inter-island transportation access from farm to markets across the country.

The company has also encouraged growth in the tourism industry by increasing accessibility and reducing the cost of travel to prime tourist destinations.

On a micro-scale level, AMTC’s RORO operations have reduced the cost of doing business for local businessmen and farmers by eliminating double handling in loading and unloading of goods; reducing damage and pilferage of goods; and reducing unnecessary port congestion since goods are no longer stockpiled in the ports.

AMTC’s operations provide support to the Government’s program in connecting the islands via the Super Nautical Highway which is aimed to decongest Manila Port and minimize the Manila road traffic.
