Mr. Lincoln [3934]

A bloom of one of Suzanne's Mr. Lincoln hybrid rose bushes.

Does it pay to spend the money on good glass? I thought I would pull out my Canon 300mm f/2.8L lens, probably one of the best manual focus lenses Canon ever produced, this particular example being over twenty years old.

I found an original Canon FD to EOS Marco Adaptor, an accessory for mounting manual focus lenses on an auto-focus camera body, sort of. The lens will mount, but will not auto focus, or automatically trip the aperture, so the lens needs to be manually focused, and stopped down before taking a photo. The added length of the adaptor greatly limits distance focusing. Even with the ability of the 300mm to focus past infinity on a FD mount camera body, the furthest it can focus on an EOS body is about twenty feet.
