Limes Arabicus: Resafa XX, Inner area

This photo shows a large panorama of Resafa’s inner area. To left there is the Martyrion, to right the great Church of St Sergius and the remains of the buildings built for the pilgrim’s accommodation.

The arcades of the northern walls, the remains of a third basilica and a civil building, perhaps a caravanserai, fill in a fascinating way the emptiness between the two sacred buildings.
