Limes Arabicus: Resafa X, The “Via recta”
The “via recta” was the sacred processional road connecting the main gate with the most important city monument, the Cathedral of St. Sergius. The pilgrim, proceeding along the sacred way (today only partially excavated), went past the St Sergius’ Martyrion, past another Basilica and eventually, turning on the left, he reached the great Sergius’ Cathedral (or Cathedral of the Holy Cross).
