Moving from DC to CA in 1988, son #3 and the dog took the plane. I took the car and drove by myself - 4 weeks zigzagging, visiting friends on the way and meeting strangers and strange places, trying to understand this country and its people and take in its beauty!
One of the best experiences of my life!
