Tiny the Bear Marks a Tree

While I was hundreds of miles away, motion-activated trail cameras awaited the first bears to walk the mating trail. This trail is lined with trees that the black bears mark to announce their presence. This is our biggest male bear, whom I ironically named "Tiny". He is marking a pine sapling that has been mangled by bears marking it over the years.
