Praise the monkey
a few years ago there was a Ted Talk called "Inside the mind of a master procrastinator". In it, the "instant gratification monkey" is presented as the cause of the procrastinator's behavior. It's said for example that the monkey is much more interested in using Google Earth to zoom in on India, 200 feet above the ground, and scrolling from border to border to get a better feel for India than doing important work. I'm reminded of this talk and the monkey every time I zoom in on a place in Google Maps to find seastacks in the water or other interesting places. Is this procrastination or work? I don’t know but the monkey found this beach on Langkawi.
