Crouching Dragon

This is at the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall in China. I got up that morning at around 4:30 am, got ready, stepped out the door and found myself in the middle of thick fog. I only had one night there and this was my only chance to photograph the wall. Actually the second chance but the sunset the day before wasn't good either. And now I was standing there and could barely see the house on the other side of the street. With waning confidence and loaded with quite a bit of frustration I went on the little hike up to the wall nevertheless because I was hoping I would be higher than the fog when I get there. Turned out to be true and turned out to be one unbelievably moody morning with the Wall peaking through the moving fog. Being there almost alone made the experience even better. Ever since, the Great Wall is my favourite pile of old stones. :-)
