Maja squinado

Spider crabs are fairly common throughout the world, and the largest species that reside on the ocean floor can have a leg span of up to four metres across. Maja Squinado, the European species also known as ‘spiny spider crabs’, grows to have a body around 20cm long. This large size makes it the subject of some commercial fishing.
