Testing the waters

On my first trip to Tasmania, Laura and I went to climb a distinctive peak - Frenchmans' Cap. Once up in the alpine, the views were minimal to none, though we did get an excellent view of the inside of a cloud for the better part of a day.

The jungles were incredible, however, and partially made up for the lack of alpine views. Wildlife spotted included a tiger quoll and pademilan (spelling?) complete with a very young joey, as well as a tiger snake.

This shot is taken on the uphill grunt between Lake Vera and Lake Tahune.
