Cranbrook Union Mill
A dear 90 year old widowed friend organises a monthly get together of people in her local pub, The George in Cranbrook Kent. She lives close to the Cranbrook Union mill, which is the tallest surviving smock mill in the British Isles. It is fully restored and in great condition. Built originally in 1814 it is a fascinating structure and there is an excellent interactive website for the mill at www.panoramastudio.co.uk/clients/cranbrook/index.html . These views were taken last night in slightly misty conditions after I had dropped my 90 year old friend back to her cottage.
The image is compiled from a series of bracketed shots to bring out the full detail and tonal range. There is more detail when the image is viewed large, should you choose to do so.
