Sirmione Castle on Lake Garda (Explored)

I'm really enjoying the travel pictures my flickr friends are posting and I've had a couple of requests for more pictures from our rail journey from London to Italy in June. This one shows the 13th century Scaliger Castle, which, other than arriving by boat, is the only way into the town. All traffic, motorised and human, goes through the arch you can see in the keep to the left of the picture. Normally this area is packed with tourists during the season but if you get up early enough you not only get a good clear view but some nice light too. This was taken before breakfast one day.
