Banded Malaysian Coral Snake (Calliophis intestinalis)

One of the coolest snakes I found in Malaysia was this coral snake in Fraser's Hill.

It actively hunts other snakes in the rainforest leaf litter at night. When threatened it lifts its tail or flips over to reveal its white and black underside bands to warn predators it is dangerous.

It has a neurotoxic venom that can be fatal to people, so it is best advised to watch your fingers around these snakes!
