An interesting encounter
A fascinating insight in to the world of a fox today. This flock of Ewes is currently lambing out in the open and it would easy to assume that the fox was after the lambs. Well after 40 mins in the field the fox did not make a single attempt to take a lamb. What was so amazing was that the Ewes were completely unbothered by the fox in the field. They did not make a noise or attempt to see it off, most didn't even get up. The quietness and sense of calm all around was palpable The fox had more hassle from the Gulls, Magpies and Crows that were about. The fox was more interested in worms and grubs and seemed to be finding plenty of these. I did wonder if the fox would have taken any afterbirth if it was around. Whether the fox would have taken a weak or dead lamb I've no idea but from what I saw of its behaviour that would seem unlikely.
