Wedding dinner : waiting for the newlyweds

Prima del pranzo di nozze per i bambini era categorico "attendere" per non rovinare abiti, calzettoni bianchi e scarpe.Poi all'arrivo degli sposi iniziava il pranzo che andava avanti per 5 /7 ore! Dopo le prime ore e , dopo aver mangiato e "ben bevuto", si concedeva il via libera ai bambini (anche per sopravvivere alle urla degli stessi...).Spesso complice qualche padre o fratello maggiore appariva d'incanto un pallone leggerissimo e di plastica sempre presente in ogni portabagagli dell'epoca. A quel punto si scatenava l'inferno in partite improvvisate in strada con lacerazioni,sbucciature e rottura di scarpe e vestiti.La giornata era conclusa con cruente litigate tra i genitori (con l'accusa reciproca di mancato controllo dei figli...) e schiaffoni ai figli per aver rovinato ...le scarpe della festa! Quasto accadeva...spesso, circa 49 anni fa , a Roma e dintorni.

 

Before the wedding dinner for the kids was categorical "wait" for not ruining clothes, white socks and shoes. Then the arrival of the couple began the lunch went on for 5/7 hours! After the first few hours after eating and "well drunk", it gave the green light to children (even to survive the screams of the same ...). Often complicit in some father or older brother appeared a ball of charm and light plastic is always present in every trunk of the time. At that point, all hell broke loose in pick-up games in the street with lacerations, bruises and broken shoes and clothes. The day was ended with bloody quarrel between their parents (with mutual accusations of failing to control their children ...) and slaps to the children ... for ruining the shoes of the party! Trick that happened ... often, about 49 years ago, in and around Rome.
