Black Grouse Cock. (1 of 3)

So there I was, at the side of a single track road with a deep ditch in front of me and just beyond that, a single black grouse male in the field, close by, but behind sheep fencing, preventing me getting a clear shot. Nothing else for it but to creep slowly along, then gradually raise myself to full height to get the shot over the top of the fence. Too much excitement for both me and the bird as he took off, but I was pleased to have a couple of fair shots.
