The 'old mine road' house, is an abandoned house on the Mississagi River near Old Mine Road; it is about 10 kilometres east of Iron Bridge and about 10 kilometres west of Blind River on the Trans-Canada Highway 17. It is one of two old abandoned houses between Iron Bridge and Blind River, the other is the Daigle House- - -5 kilometres to the east. The Daigle House was built in the1870s with square cut timber; this house appears to be more recent- - -late 1800s to early 1900s- - -and is of wood frame clapboard construction. The house, as seen, is in a state of advanced decay and has been heavily vandalized through out the years.
