FoP Graz TEL

The Graz is a four axle Heavy Tactical Vehicle (HTV) used by the Federation of Planets military as the basis of a variety of vehicles, including heavy logistic support vehicle, mobile command and control center, and is the basis of the Robut mobile launcher system.

The Robut is a mobile Transporter Erector Launcher (TEL) capable of supporting several kinds of munitions too large for lighter vehicles.

First and foremost of these is the MB-51 "Thundergale" ballistic missile, which the TEL can transport in pairs of two at a time. The MB-51 is an intermediate range tactical ballistic missile, with a variable yield warhead dialable to low kilotons of output. These were developed primarily to defeat Alliance HMGRD air defense systems, with a single missile being able to destroy an entire command station with a direct hit. The missile features a variety of countermeasures to avoid interception, including a low RF signature and active countermeasures such as multispectral chaff dispensers, decoys, and a powerful ECM suite. The Thundergale remains a serious threat to even the most modern Alliance HMGRD systems.

Matching form factor with the MB-51 is the GRU-103 Anti Ship Missile.

It has long been understood that the Federation Navy is hopelessly outclassed by their Alliance counterpart, and in any open conflict would be capable of only small scale victories or defensive efforts. In response to this gap in capability, the Federation military has invested heavily in ground based interceptors, semi-autonomous kill vehicles, and anti-ship weaponry, such as the GRU-103 and earlier GRU-100.

The GRU-100 was the Federation's first successful surface to orbit anti-ship missile, using a two stage launch system and independent maneuver capable kill vehicle. Once in orbit, the kill vehicle can enter a semi active hunter killer mode, maneuvering via thrusters to alter its orbit and remain nearly undetectable before igniting its short lived drive for a rapid burst of speed to intercept targets. This system was a capable deterrence and lethal threat to Alliance ships, allowing the Federation to effectively control its space without needing to match the powerful Alliance Navy. The GRU-103 continues this tradition, with improved capabilities such as a throttleable torch drive for orbital operations or extended range strikes. It possesses a shaped fission warhead capable of defeating warship armor and dealing major internal damage to even the hardiest of Alliance vessels.
