Mysterious table, floor, and magazines.
All of the images in this Stylized Mysterioso project are studies in grayscale.
I shot all of these photos originally in color. Converting to black and white and adding "noise" or over-sharpening helps me to create an image in which shapes and forms, and the play of light and shadow are revealed in grayscale, in a pure and stark composition, without the distraction of color.
When the natural and organic element of color is obliterated, what remains to be experienced, for me, are deep areas of darkness. Herein the "mystery" of objects, forms, and/or geometrics can be experienced in a more sensual way.
