Roy Karlsvik says: A B&W shot on large format film, and I just love every grain, every nuance and every shade of gray and black in this shot. It is absolutely perfectly exposed to get that right feeling and atmosphere. Simply a Masterpiece!

Roy Karlsvik says: The combination and contrast of that cramped, allmost claustrofobic tightness down in that hole, with all the roaring seawater down there, and yet still the fantastic wide open space with heaven and the ocean in the background is amazing. The effect that all that water running both upwards and downwards is adding all that extra bonus to this shot. A Fantastic shot from a very special place!

Roy Karlsvik says: Ancient but perfect symetric, and wery well captured by the photographer. Lovely colour tones and nice use of the light in this cathedral. A really cool idea for a nice and different shot.

Roy Karlsvik says: This is fantastic, foggy and free atmosphere captured inside a frame!! It's cramped but yet welcoming, and the path has been used before and makes me want to go there.

Roy Karlsvik says: The sky, one brief moment over the Orkney Islands. Allways changing, but often absolutely stunning when it comes to colours. I just love the yellows in this shot and in quite a few other shots from the same area. It's a golden sky...

Roy Karlsvik says: Another fantastic atmosphere from Joeri. This one I feel got some cold loneliness in it. The colours in this shot is absolutely gorgeous, and that old transformator pole without any cables is adding a nice element in the composition of this picture. And just to top it all, look at that sky differs from absolutely blue to something very close to black. Orkney colours :)

Roy Karlsvik says: Orkney sky like it allso may appear. I really like the gray tones in this one, and allso the nice effect the sun gives to the rainshower. The harsh and bold profile of Hoy is absolutely adding the finishing touch to it.

Roy Karlsvik says: This shot makes me shiver at times. Look at all that roaring water smashing into the rocks in this fantastic landscape. The endless motion of the sea, ever present out here on the western side of mainland Orkney...
