Arbroath Harbour 19 May 2023. This is a mixed working and pleasure boat harbour, dating from 1394, with major improvements in 1725 and 1839, and for many years one of the busiest fishing ports in Scotland. It is home to the world famous Arbroath Smokies.
BA156 QUEENSFERRY, a scalloper, was built in 1971 here in Arbroath by Mackay Boat Builders (Arbroath) Ltd, whose still working yard is in the background.
A52 MARIGOLD was built in 1968 by Smith & Hutton in Anstruther, Fife, being first registered in Whitby under the name SCORESBY. Re-registered in Arbroath in 1986 it was renamed SINCERITY A, gaining its current name in 1991. Originally classed as a trawler, it is is now a trawler/scalloper.
Both vessels are owned by Gordon M Clark of Annan.
