Snow White - Comparing Disney 12'' Poseable Dolls - 2011-2012 - Lifting Skirts - Legs + Shoes
2011 Parks, 2011 10-Pack, 2011 Classic and 2012 Classic Snow White 12'' Dolls compared.
Ranking of features:
Face: The 2012 wins, for movie accuracy, youth, liveliness (due to side glancing eyes) and beauty. The 2011 Classic has the same head mold, and is also very accurate, but her lips and eyes are too dark. The 10-pack and Parks dolls have almost identical faces (their lip colors are slightly different), and are also very lovely.
Hair: I like the 10-pack and Parks hair the best, which are identical in style. The side curls of the 2011 Classic are too prominent, and the 2012 even more so.
Outfits: The Parks doll wins hands down for completeness, detail and beauty. She has the bonus of the cape, petticoat and white cloth panties that none of the others have. But the 10-pack doll has by far the most movie accurate costume, and it is almost glitter free. The nicest looking bow is on the 2012 Classic doll. The worst outfit is the 2011 Classic, with the glittery tulle overskirt, solid glitter bodice, and random jewel.
Shoes: The Parks doll wins for the beauty of her shiny gold high heeled shoes. But the most movie accurate is the 2012 Classic doll, with flat yellow shoes.
Articulation: Of course, the 2012 doll wins hands down, with the addition of fully articulated legs. The Parks doll has the least articulation, with no elbow, wrist or ankle joints, and very limited knee joints, but is still fairly poseable. And her arms and legs look more natural without exposed external joints.
Overall Ranking: For presentation and display, the Parks doll is much more impressive looking than the other dolls. However, for play and posing, the 10-pack doll wins because of her simple yet elegant and movie accurate, glitter free outfit, and articulated arms.
Comparing various versions of the Disney Princess 12'' poseable dolls, from the years 2011 through 2012. They are viewed from the front, the back and with their skirts lifted to show their legs and shoes or feet (for those with skirts). I also include short reviews of the dolls.
