Special Edition Aurora Animator Doll - Disney Store Purchase - Boxed - Rear View
I got the Special Edition Aurora Animator Doll today, her release day, from my local Disney Store. I picked out the best of the four copies that they on the shelves. She is $59.95, same as the other Special Edition DAC dolls released so far (Tinker Bell and Rapunzel). I got 10% off using a D23 coupon. She has golden blonde hair, a gold crown with white and red jewels, dark pink shoes and white underskirt. Her gown has sheer sleeves and a wide white collar with gold trim.
She is wearing her pink gown with light up effects. In the Try Me mode (which is factory default), when you press the plastic flower on her belt, the dress lights up with blue lights, then pink, then both blue and pink, with each effect lasting about two seconds. After deboxing her, and switching the mode to the On state, when you press the flower, the blue lights come on for 10 seconds. Then press it again for 10 seconds of pink lights. Finally pressing it a third time lights up both the pink and blue lights for about 10 seconds.
She can free stand fairly stably, but my doll leans to the right because her legs and feet aren't even. So for all but the one shot, I have her supported by a Kaiser stand. Finally I put her back in her box for safe keeping. She is 15 inches high to the top of her head (the website lists her as 16 inches).
She was also released online today. There was a companion piece released today, the DAC Aurora Bed Set ($49.95), but my local store didn't have it.
