The Ghosts Are Always Overdoing It (Rest in Peace, Susan Anway)

Exhausted

by being

unseen,

doubted,

disbelieved

they scream

inaudible

shrieks

throwing tantrums

about what to wear

or how to repair

the torn hem

of the garment

that they must keep

forever.

Yesterday

I thought I heard

one running through

the ravine.

It was, I think,

Susan Anway

newly released from

this mortal pain.
