Sundial Vessel

Carved gourd, acrylic paint, gold leaf, computer disc drive part, Swarovski crystal.

 

Inspired by growth and expansion, more specifically growing out of one’s skin. Reminiscent of the texture and contrast of volcanoes and molten lava, and by a photograph I took of a black charred stump in Australia left with the delightful treasures of three cicada skins.
