Forêt de l’Obermundat / Mundatwald
Derstenhaus, a small cabin on the slopes of the Hohe Derst, in the snowy Mundat Forest. This low mountain range was scene of countless border shifts between France and Germany over the past centuries.
After WWII it was a border anomaly and didn’t completely come back to German territory until the end of the 1980s.
Today it is a part of the French national forest and of Rhineland-Palatinate.
