10. Violence

I hate violence. I hate war, and have only seen that war was the answer a few times in History. Violence really doesn’t get you anything, and hurting another physically also hurts them emotionally. Most people would say “Someone who says that can’t fight”. Stupid thought to say (and it really re-enforces what I am saying here) but that’s not the case for me. Sorry.

 

I have rarely gotten in fights, but when I have it was because someone was committing violence against someone else. When I was in college a guy was beating up on a girl outside a party so I stepped in. I was polite and told him he needed to stop, he didn’t like that I took him away from his one sided fight, and I tried to not fight the guy. He ended up in the hospital, I ended up in a cop car until his girlfriend came forward and told the truth (she had originally took his side when the cops showed up out of fear).

 

Violence is just another tool of fear. It’s stupid and pointless, and I hate it. I can keep a level head, but try to hurt those that mean the most to me, and it’ll be a different story. Even then, I’d rather use my intelligence than a fist to screw someone back…
