Day 489 - Day 124
“I believe in the Kingdom Come then all the colors will bleed into one”
I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For: U2, Joshua Tree
This was such a huge album for U2, and to count the number of people who were inspired in some way or form from this album alone would take a long time to count. Bono always has such a level of spirituality in his lyrics- not really preaching I don’t feel, but putting his faith out there. I admire that.
It’s not hard to read in a lot of my posts that I am one for journeys. I see a lot of life as one journey that leads to yet another. Life has one lesson after another or so at least I see it that way. This song really always pulled that out to me- that we are as a humanity (or so I see it) always on a journey to find truth, meaning and purpose. To understand and learn- to love. I always saw a lot of truths in this song which is why I think that it called out to me…
*** Artist Notes ***
Light beams through the stained glass in the Washington National Cathedral created this spectrum, and I got behind the glass- changing he shutter speed. It took a while but was worth the shot!
Lyrics:
I have climbed highest mountains
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you
I have run
I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in her fingertips
It burned like a fire
This burning desire
I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
I believe in the Kingdom Come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
But yes I'm still running
You broke the bonds
And you loosed the chains
Carried the cross
Of my shame
Oh my shame
You know I believe it
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
