Part of my process here lately has been sorting through the sentiment I carry- what I hold onto and what I let go of. Some things are rally hard to let go of as I pack up and leave the state I’ve known and created so many memories in, and yet some things are relics that I can carry with me. I try to keep a balance with what I hold onto and what I can let go of, knowing I can be overly sentimental- but that is the struggle.
This bottle was the first present I ever gave my wife after we got married. It was sand and salt water I collected on a beach trip with her family, and it was all that I could afford back in the day. But yesterday she came to me asking to toss it since it was getting corroded and wasting away. Wow… I suppose when something means more to one than another, that’s a sign to not keep it and move on…
